About Us

Value addition & job creation in Zambia's cotton sector

HATTAZ is a member-based organization committed to gender equity, democratic values, and best business practices.

We work to address the issues of women's income generation, value addition, and job creation in the Zambian cotton sector.

The Association seeks to promote the local production and use of locally woven fabric in Zambia and beyond thereby creating employment, reducing poverty and improving the living standards of the under privileged.

Promoting handloom technologies for the production of locally woven fabrics using local raw materials for the Zambian and international markets to contribute to decent work and improved living standards of its members

Who We Help

Women and youths in rural communities

We work with over 1000 women and youths in rural communities and have a presence in over 16 districts We organize awareness programs, capacity building in weaving & spinning, and provide handloom machines to organized groups.

Our Aim

Improve the living standards of cotton farmers

We aim to improve the living standards of cotton farmers by helping them increase their income through having diverse income sources and in our case weaving and spinning.

Developing market linkages for hand-woven fabrics

We focus on developing market linkages for hand-woven fabrics and garments in the regional market. We connect our women led businesses in textile to local and export markets.
